Nicki is an Emmy-nominated storyteller with nearly a decade of experience telling stories that impact the community. A Hernando, Mississippi native and graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi, she previously worked as a photojournalist at ABC24 News in Memphis.
One of her more memorable stories was "The Mule Train: Poor People's Campaign Continued," which captured the poor living conditions of Quitman County, Mississippi, an area that was considered a food desert with few medical resources. After the documentary aired, a grocery store and hospital opened in the county. The documentary was nominated for a Midsouth Regional Emmy.
Nicki served as Director of Photography on our Emmy-nominated video for the Alex Haley Museum & Interpretive Center and Emmy-nominated documentary Dangerous by Design.
She strives to use her love for storytelling to lift up voices that typically go unheard.
